Tandoori Chicken

Marination Time : 2 hours Cooking Time : 15 Mins Makes 4 – 6 portions Ingredients: Small Whole Dressed 2 No Chicken (500 to 600 gms each) Red Chilly Powder 1 Tsp Lemon Juice 4 Tbsp Yoghurt 100 gms Ginger Garlic Paste 30 gms Garam Masala Powder ½ tsp Orange Food Color 1 drop Cream* 100g Butter/Oil 50 ml Salt to taste |
Preparation:
1. Clean the chicken and make deep incisions on the breast, thigh and drumsticks to ensure that the marination reaches inside properly. 2. In a bowl, Mix all the remaining ingredients together to form a paste 3. Apply this paste on the chicken, rubbing it inside the incisions properly. 4. Keep aside for 2 -3 hours at room temperature or overnight in refrigerator Cooking: 1. Cook in a preheated oven at 180 degree C for 10 to 15 minutes till the chicken is cooked** 2. Cook in a Tandoor(Clay Oven ) for 8 to 10 minutes 3. Cook in a microwave on Combi Mode for 8 to 10 minutes. |
* If cream is not available, replace it with yoghurt ensuring that the curd is not too sour
** To check if the chicken is cooked, insert a knife in the thickest part of meat. If no pink juice oozes out, the chicken is cooked.
